Uncertainties on Caesareans

http://www.forbes.com/home/feeds/ap/2006/03/29/ap2632089.html

It's a little bit of a tricky conclusion that they reach. Essentially the final determination should be done between a woman and a doctor that she trusts, but the latest panel was unable to determine any definitive guidelines.

Women planning more than 2 children shouldn't electively choose C-section births, as later pregnancies are subject to greater risk.

Women concerned with avoiding pain during childbirth shouldn't consider a C-section to be their only recourse, but should instead consider pain-numbing epidurals.

So many questions, so few answers. Ultimately, it's a personal choice between an expectant mother and her doctor, but the doctor should never be the one pushing for a C-section so that the birth occurs at a convenient time, and should only be advocating a C-section for health reasons.

Oral Health Tips

From MSN comes a selection of oral health care tips for babies. Their article is titled "Health Tip: Baby Bottle Tooth Decay" and can be found at:

http://health.msn.com/centers/oralhealth/ArticlePage.aspx?cp-documentid=100101179

They cite the American Academy of Pediatrics with the following tips:

  • Never put your child to bed with a bottle.
  • Only give your baby a bottle during meals.
  • Teach your child to drink from a cup as soon as possible, usually by age one.
  • Keep your baby's mouth clean.
  • Use water and a soft child-sized toothbrush for daily cleaning once your child has seven to eight teeth.

As someone who's had cavities filled as a young child, had 4 teeth yanked for braces as a teen, and very probably going to have to deal with impacted wisdom teeth extraction in the next few years, let me just say that I don't think it's *ever* too early to start paying attention to proper oral hygiene.

As the old saying goes, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!"

This baby bodysuit is extremely soft and comfortable, and is made of very high quality "luvably soft" cotton from India. The manufacturer goes to great lengths to produce the highest quality cotton while keeping costs to a minimum in order to provide great quality at a great price.

One shoulder of the baby bodysuit comes with three small metal snaps in order to provide for a more comfortable experience in putting this bodysuit on your baby, or when taking it off. Instead of a fixed, tight collar that you may worry about stretching as you try to take it on and off comfortably, the simple snaps allow for easy on and easy off. Matching snaps at the crotch help for easy diaper changing.

The pattern of the stripes is dyed into the fabric, and will stand up to repeated washings.
