MILWAUKEE - Weighing in at 13 pounds, 12 ounces, Delaney Jessica Buzzell isn't your average newborn. Her parents have even dubbed her the "Big Enchilada." The baby headed home Tuesday after being delivered by Caesarean section on June 23 — a surprising three weeks early.

I recently saw Meet the Fockers, the sequel to Meet the Parents, and found it to be a rather fun and funny movie. Any of you who've seen it probably got quite a chuckle out of several of the scenes, and you probably had your attention momentarily diverted during the scenes with the toddler by wondering just how effective are some of what they were trying to teach that child?

I think the movie sort of made its own point about the self-soothing aspect, so I won't delve into that too far, but the sign language aspect was intriguing. Naturally for a comedy, the adults had a harder time understand what the sign language meant than did the child, but it was still an interesting concept.

Baby Sign Language has emerged as one of the better things you can do to interact with your child, and actually helps your child in more ways than just helping you communicate at a younger age - though that is invaluable in and of itself!
